Chemical Peels

Chemical Peel Oklahoma City

Many of our patients desire smooth, youthful-looking skin, but some do not need or want to undergo major cosmetic surgery procedures such as facelift and brow lift. For patients who desire less invasive treatment, we are pleased to offer chemical peels and other non-surgical alternatives that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and restore a beautiful glow to the skin.  When performed under the watch of a qualified cosmetic surgeon, chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, and Power Peel® microdermabrasion can achieve excellent results without the downtime associated with surgery. We invite you to contact us to learn about the rejuvenating benefits of the different types of chemical peel treatments at our Oklahoma City practice.

Different Types of Chemical Peels

Dr. Silverstein offers light, medium, and deep chemical peel treatments.  During a chemical peel consultation at our Oklahoma City practice, he will ask questions about your treatment goals and determine which type of peel is best for your skin type. The formula of each chemical peel can also be adjusted so that treatment is precisely tailored to your individual needs.

In all three chemical peels, treatment is administered in a similar fashion. An acid solution is applied to the targeted areas and removes the outer layers of damaged skin. Light chemical peels are designed for patients who are beginning to notice mild signs of sun exposure or premature aging, such as dry skin, uneven pigmentation, small wrinkles,  and fine lines.

The medium chemical peel targets more pronounced skin imperfections, including age spots, wrinkles, and blemishes. This type of chemical peel is a more effective choice for patients with darker skin.

The deep chemical peel uses a stronger solution than light or medium peels.  The chemical used in this type of peel can treat course wrinkles, blotching, and even pre-cancerous growths.  Deep peels offer the most dramatic skin rejuvenation but require a longer recovery period than other facial peels.
