Breast Lift Oklahoma City
Over time, many women begin to notice the effects that pregnancy, nursing, gravity, and aging have had on their breasts. These factors can cause the breasts to lose their shape and firmness. A breast lift procedure with Dr. Paul Silverstein can help transform drooping, sagging breasts into beautiful, shapely curves. We invite you to learn more about how you can restore youthful-looking beauty and femininity to your figure with a breast lift at our Oklahoma City practice, serving Tulsa and other nearby areas.
The Breast Lift Procedure
To begin the breast lift procedure, Dr. Silverstein will make an anchor-shaped incision that begins around the areola and extends downward to follow the natural curve of the breast. Excess skin will be removed; in addition, the nipple and areola will be restored to a higher, more youthful-looking position. If necessary, the size of the areola will be reduced. To finish the reshaping procedure, Dr. Silverstein will bring the skin down around the swell of the breast. As one of the premiere breast lift surgeons in Oklahoma City, Dr. Silverstein is able to perform these steps with precision and an eye for aesthetics.
The entire procedure takes approximately two to three hours, and is usually performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. If patients desire larger breasts or wish to replace breast volume lost during pregnancy, then breast augmentation can be performed in conjunction with the breast lift procedure at our practice, serving Tulsa, Norman, Duncan, Ponca City, and communities across Oklahoma.
After Breast Lift Surgery
After surgery, your breasts will be wrapped in gauze bandages and fitted with a surgical bra. Some patients experience discomfort for a day or two, including bruising and soreness, but Dr. Silverstein will prescribe medication to alleviate any pain. A soft support bra will replace the surgical bra a few days after the procedure, and will be worn for three to four weeks. Stitches will be removed between one and two weeks. Patients are generally able to return to work approximately one week after breast lift surgery, as long as their jobs do not require lifting or other strenuous activities. It is important to refrain from lifting and exercising for about three to four weeks after surgery. Throughout the course of your recovery, Dr. Silverstein and our compassionate staff will be there to ensure your healing period is as smooth as possible.
Many breast lift patients from Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Enid, and towns across the state have found their results to be very satisfying and long-lasting. Dr. Silverstein places incisions in such a way that scars can easily be covered by bras or swimwear. Although most women who desire a breast lift are excellent candidates for the procedure, pregnancy can reverse breast lift results. If you believe you might have children in the future, you are advised to wait until after pregnancy to undergo a breast lift.
